Finding Time to Build Your Private Practice

Let’s address a common concern that many aspiring private practice owners face: finding the time to start and grow their practice.

It's understandable to feel overwhelmed when you're already working a demanding 40 to 60-hour workweek. I want to share some valuable insights that can help you carve out the time you need to pursue your entrepreneurial dreams.

If you're currently in a full-time job that leaves you with little time and energy to work on your private practice, you're not alone. Many people find themselves in this situation, wondering how they can transition to a more flexible schedule that allows them to build their practice on the side. One effective approach is to make the same choice I did—I switched from a low-paying, time-consuming full-time job to a higher-paying part-time position.

This transition not only gave me the financial freedom to focus on my private practice but also freed up needed hours in my week. By working part-time, I was able to allocate more time and energy to launching my business. Of course, this shift required some financial planning and savings, but the investment was well worth it in the end!

Though I think this path is the best option, everyone is different and what worked for me might not work for you. It’s important for you to take time to consider your current schedule, your goals and how best you personally can reach them. For example, I’ve worked with NP business start ups where they work a variety of hours and I help them decide on how to shift their work to meet the needs of a practice.

I welcome anyone in any situation to apply and we can figure out a plan that best fits you!

If you're feeling overwhelmed and short on time, making this career shift might be the game-changer you need. It's a strategic move that allows you to maintain financial stability while building your dream practice.

You'll find that with better work-life balance, you'll be more productive and creative in your business.
