Instead of going on medical leave and potentially eventual disability, I could tailor my work around my treatments and take the time I needed to heal. It wasn't easy, but it highlighted one of the most significant advantages of owning a private practice—freedom and flexibility. Once you get your practice off the ground, the freedom it affords you is invaluable.
